Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, and a warm welcome at the South Asia Arts & Literature Festival 2025, Melbourne opening.  My name is Noel Nadesan, and as the President of Australia South Asia Society, I’m happy to see so many of you here, I want to thank everyone who contributed to the groundwork for this festival. My special thanks to the executive members of the Australia South Asian Society. Also, my dear friend Sritharan who arranged and decorated this hall

This event celebrates the literary and artistic talents within our South Asian community in Victoria.

In this festival we are showcasing the people using their temporal lobe to express their emotions in literary and art forms.   As you all know, writers and artists were and are the pioneers of human civilization, as Greek philosophers, Easterners from the Epic of Mahabharata, Ramayana, Thirukural and the Chinese philosopher Confucius.
