Dr. Shiamala Nadean Cancer Welfare Foundation
The above foundation was launched on 28th February 2023 at Regent Hotel, Deveni Rajasinghe Mawatha, Kandy.
The birth of this foundation is a result of a collective effort of Dr. Shiamal Nadesan’s family and friends with the main objective of providing financial an psycholical support for the cancer victims and their families.
The launching ceremony was attended by the academics and professionals including the Deans of the Faculties of Medicine, Dental Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of University of Peradeniya, professors who are in active service and retired from universities of Peradeniya and Kelaniya, oncologists, oncosurgeons, counsellors, other professionals, well- wishers and the board of directors of the newly formed cancer welfare foundation.

Help extended to date :
1. Victim ( male) of an orsophageal cancer= Rs. 25,250/ ( to purchase chemotherapeutic agents)
2.6 cancer victim families (all males) = Rs. 60,000/= ( Rs. 10,000 each to purchase medicines and nutritional supplements)
3.Victim (female) of ovarian cancer= Rs. 35,000/=
